 | 20th Italian Baja: Fun assured at Italian Baja for Bikes/Cars/Quads/Trucks
|
Dazzling and scenographical. The 2013 edition of the Italian Baja 2013 is supposed to be able to satisfy all protagonists from 14th to 17 th March; entries will be accepted until Monday 4th March and seem to be more than 100, including cars, bikes, quads and trucks. Despite of the economic crisis the Fuoristrada Club 4x4 Pordenone has been receiving a lot of entries, and it is nice to see that bikes and quads are increasing day by day.
Regarding cars, the competition (T1, T2, T3) is valid as first race both of the FIA World Cup for Cross Country Rallies and of the Italian Cross Country Championship. As for bikes and quads, the race is valid for the FIM Bajas World Cup, FIM Bajas Europe Cup and the Italian Bajas Championship.
Trucks (T4) cannot share any validity, but it deals on a race-event with a particular role and a special rank. The whole track will be about 360 km long, characterized by the Meduna, Cosa and Tagliamento riverbeds and the narrow country roads just below the mountain area surrounding Pordenone.
Competitors won’t have to face many fords, as organizers tried to avoid problems in case of overflowing during the race, that’s to say in just two weeks. News of the track will be a double "marathon" lap (140 km, almost consecutively) which will be faced by cars and trucks on Saturday 16th March, while bikes and quads will cross it on Sunday 17th March.
Both the arrival and the prize giving ceremony will take place at the Pordenone Fair, where the Head Quarter of the event will be hosted, just few kw away from the A28 Highway, allowing participants to easily reach the locations.
In order to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Italian Baja, the Organizing Committee planned an extraordinary Galadinner on Friday night, just after the Super Special Stage on 15th March, inviting all participants, authorities, sponsors, special guests, friends and co-operators of the Fuoristrada Club 4x4.
