 Much more than hundred, the Italian Baja got 122 entries. A complete success, as cars participating to the FIA World Cup are 48, to the CSAI-race 18, 3 trucks thanks to the Orobica Raid Team, 53 bikes and quads, including FIM World Cup (26), UEM Championship (19) and Italian FIM Championship validity
(8).
At the very last moment the baja received the entry in the name of the Polish Krzysztof Holowczyc, who won the 2010 edition with the Mini All4 Racing of the
Monster Energy X-Raid Team. Sven Quandt, boss of the Bavarian Team, clearly didn't want to abstain from participating.
On Friday night, 15th March - after the Super Special Stage "Royal Beach" across the Meduna riverbed in the surrounding of Cordenons and Zoppola - a mega party will be offered to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the race, sharing our enthusiasm with the Italian ACI President, Eng. Angelo Sticchi Damiani.
"We have done our best, this year" affirms proudly Mauro Tavella. "We have been working with an extraordinary willpower and addiction to improve even more the World race for cars, bikes and quads. The multitude of participants, in spite of the economic crisis, demonstrates that the Italian Baja represents an authentic landmark for all Cross Country experts".
Thousands of people will come along the Tagliamento river to enjoy the show on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th March, when Jean-Louis Schlesser, Xavier Foj, Boris Gadasin (car), Stephane Peterhansel (bike) and Nicola Montalbini (quad) will be the highlight challengers of an unbelievable duel, admiring the courage of the fore-runner Nicola Dutto, riding his KTM prepared and modified for him, considering his legs' impairment.
