 | Dakar Rally 2013: Dutch Mitsubishi driver Bernhard ten Brinke not at start.
|

 | | | Bernhard ten Brinke will not enter the Dakar Rally 2013. The rally driver from Holland finally decided not to travel to Lima after the health situation of his mother deteriorated over the last few weeks.
"I was ready to aim for a strong performance with my navigator and the team, but in this kind of situation my family comes first. In this final phase I want to support my mother and my loved ones", says Bernhard ten Brinke.
Bernhard ten Brinke debuted last year in world toughest rally finishing in 8th place. The Dutchman would have started this Saturday with number 304 on his Wevers Mitsubishi Racing Lancer based HRX Ford, on a mission for a top 5 ranking together with his French navigator Matthieu Baumel.
The Riwald Dakar Team will now enter two instead of three HRX Ford rally cars for Erik Wevers/Fabian Lurquin (starting number 325) and Gert Huzink/Eugenie Decré (starting number 346). The GINAF race assistance truck is driven by Anne Kies/Fred Wigman/Rob Buursen (starting number 542).
