 | Dakar Rally 2013: Joan Barreda - "Attacked from the beginning to the end."
|

 | | | Starting from positions delayed due to the problems experienced in the third stage, Joan Barreda Bort, the spanish rider from Castellón, on his Husqvarna TE449 RR by Speedbrain, scored his second stage victory in this edition of the Dakar Rally. Barreda printed a fast pace from the start, enough to move along the path between Nazca and Arequipa at a rate much higher than its rivals.
The stage, very sandy and with soft dunes, was the last of these features, as the rally enters now in Chile, where the stage will be more enduro-type. Barreda Bort moves into 4th place in the overall standings, 5:38 minutes of the head and just over two minutes of Cyril Despres.
Joan Barreda: "After a bad day yesterday, when I broke the spokes of my wheel and lost heaps of time, I rode very well today. I started from far back and was able to go on the attack from the beginning to the end. Nothing is lost yet, so I'm going to fight every day to move back to the front. As always.
