|24 Hours Greece: No entry fees for foreign competitors in November 2011.|
From the 26-27th of November, the Greek are inviting the Rallyraid-world again for the "Cooper 24 Hours of Greece" Rally, last round of the "Balkan Rallyraid Cup", which included the "Balkan Offroad", "Evia Rally" and "Albania Rally". The best: Foreign competitors have to pay no administrative cost, transport and accommodation can be arranged in low prices.
The "24 Hours of Greece", only a few kilometers from Athens, are different. The rally will be held in a big rally course, which has to be driven four times, each with a 90 minutes service - 24 hours long, from Saturday 12:00 pm to Sunday 12:00 pm. Overall participants have to reach approx. 900 kilometers in racing.
The event is open for Motobikes, Quads/ATV, Side-by-Side and Cars. Inside the cars there are four classes - from T1-T3 rallycars up to serial rallycars, cruising class and SUV-class.
The terrain consists of many types of gravel. From fast, wide roads up to difficult, mud paths and twisting mountain roads. From zero altitude, up to 1500 meters, on the rocky mountains of Central Greece. During day and night, close to the biggest night in the area, that lasts for 14 hours.
Sioutis/Makris (Suzuki Jimny 1.8) have won twice the race. Christos Kyrtsos won in 2009, and with a new motor in his Bowler, his is one of the most likely to win. Dimitris Christou (Mitsubishi Pajero V20), winner of rally class in 2009, has as co-driver the experienced Dimitris Amaxopoulos.
Trayanov/Marinkov (Bulgaria) won in 2010 and are coming in order to do it again and win the "Balkan Off Road Cup". Lagadov/Nikolov (Mitsubishi Pajero), won "Balkan Off Road Marathon" 2011 and are coming to win at first sight!
Palaskas/Zachariou (Mitsubishi Pajero V20 T1), are experienced and are driving the best car of the race. They are trying to gain more experience before their entry to Africa Eco Race. Greek Champions Koutsompos/Lamprinos (Suzuki Vitara 2.0) and Dimitriadis/Kalfas (Suzuki Jimny 1.6), are willing to score their first win in the race and to stop Trayanov.
For European competitors 4 days are enough for coming, racing, return to base. Ships from and to Italy depart every day. Athens Airport is just few kilometers from the start.
