ABSA 2009: Record Entry for Sun City 400 Rally.

| |
|
 | | | The Sun City 400 on Friday and Saturday, round five of the South African Absa Off Road Championship, has drawn a record entry of 106 vehicles. The entries are made up of Absa national championship and Northern Regions Championship entries. There is a 50/50 split between the Production Car and Special Vehicle categories with a number of competitors entered in both the national and regional championships.
"It is a phenomenal entry and once again underlines the Sun City 400’s status as one of the most popular events on the Absa calendar," said chief organiser Adri Roets. "It also continues a trend throughout the season with events drawing huge entries. This is a reflection of the healthy state of off road racing in this country."
Voted ‘Event of the Year’ two years in a row, the Sun City 400 is this year aiming for a unique hat-trick. The event covers a wide variety of terrain within the Royal Bafokeng kingdom, and is spectator friendly with all viewing points within 50 kilometres of event headquarters.
The event headquarters, the start/finish and the designated service area are all situated within the Sun City resort complex. The 70 kilometre prologue to determine grid positions starts at 12:00 on Friday, 24 July and the race at 08:00 on Saturday.
