The South African "Team Ford Racing" will once again contest the premier class of the "ABSA Off Road Championship" with Chris Visser and Japie Badenhorst doing duty in their SP Ford Ranger. Up-and-coming youngster Lance Woolrdige proved with his performance last season, that he is one to watch, and will again be partnered by Ward Huxtable.
The RFS Magalies 400 will be the first of eight nation-wide events. "We are eager to start the season on a strong note" said Visser. "The Class SP field will be extremely competitive this year, making it all the more important to kick the season off with a bang."
Lance Woolridge and Ward Huxtable will pilot the second SP Ford Ranger TDCi. They demonstrated last year that they have what it takes to run at the front of the field and having gained valuable SP experience in the second half of last year, they start the season on a good footing.
"We learnt a lot last year," commented Woolridge. "We had some difficult moments as well as some very positive ones. I am hoping to build on that experience this season and enjoy some strong results."
The RFS Magalies 400 was last year voted as the best event of the season. Centered around the Tarlton International Raceway near Krugersdorp, the event is close to Johannesburg and should attract a strong spectator base.
