 | Abu Dhabi DC: Great success for Jean-Louis Schlesser and Sonagol team.

Events follow each other but are not alike... After the mud of the "Italian Baja", the FIA Cross Country World Cup headed for the burning sands of the UAE. The "Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge" was once again a challenging and demanding test for drivers and cars. In the heart of this magnificent desert of dunes, high temperatures made every leg an intense fight.
In this scenery and facing tough competition, the Schlesser Buggy signed two stage victories and won, certainly, in the two-wheel drive category. A victory that puts the team Sonangol-Schlesser ahead of the World Cup on drivers and manufacturers classifications. At the end of this second world round, overall (all categories included) Jean-Louis Schlesser sets the second position.
Co-driven by Russian Konstantin Zhiltsov (just like 2010 Tunisia Rally victory), Jean-Louis Schlesser had a lot of fun during this grueling race: "It was an extremely difficult event, as often in the UAE. The legs were mainly composed of very technical large dune crossings."
He continued: "I am very happy with this result and this new victory. We had the opportunity to race on very beautiful stages and to take part in strong fights. The Buggy Sonangol was perfect, not a single incident - a high precision run! Konstantin, as usual, took his role very seriously. Everything went really well. "
After scoring "big points" in Abu Dhabi, Jean-Louis Schlesser will enter "OiLibya Rally of Tunisia", third round of the FIA World Cup, from 1st to 7th of May. On this occasion, the driver-manufacturer will again be co-driven by Konstantin Zhiltsov.
But before the Tunisian sands, Jean-Louis will make his next stop at the 24 Hours Off Road of Morocco, from 20th to 26th of April, where he will team up with Jean-Marie Davoy Georges Lansac and Alain Guéhennec.
