 | Abu Dhabi DC: More cars missing - Ilya Kuznetsov and Roman Elagin testing.
|
After our first report from friday morning we heard about more cars, that are missed at some borders between Europe and the Arabic countries. Now not only the Czech "OffroadSport" and Italian "Ralliart"-Team are missing cars, also some Nissan of the "Technosport" crew are missed. "The organisation will try to help us" reported Mila Janacek, navigator of Miroslav Zapletal (X-raid BMW X3CC).
So it sounds like, it will be a "big match" between X-raid, G-Force, Jean-Louis Schlesser and an armada of "local heroes". The Russian G-Force and International X-raid crews arrived in time and are using the last hours before the race with test-sessions in the UAE desert.
The actual FIA T2 World Champion Ilya Kuznetsov and Roman Elagin started with a SAM Mercedes 35CC at the "Italian Baja" - and made 10th position in their first T1-race in 2012. In Abu Dhabi and Qatar both are testing a BMW X3CC from the German X-raid Team.
"In these two races we will be part of X-Raid, and this is a very serious step for us in gaining new experiences and opportunities to realize our sporting objectives" Kuznetsov reported to RRCLUB. "The BMW X3CC is entirely new for us and therefore, like in Italy, we are acquainted with him and learn the endurance and specifics of the car."
Kuznetsov likes the longer-stage rallys: "The format of the upcoming races is not as transient as was in Italy, so hopefully there will be more opportunities to race with dignity and show a good result. I want to be in the top five, but at least a dozen!"
