 | Abu Dhabi DC: Team Honda at the start of first two rounds of FIM World Cup.

Only 2 weeks until the start of the opening round of the FIM Cross Country World Cup for Bikes: The opening round is, just like last year, the "Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge". Team "Bel Ray" Honda Europe will start at the event. The bikes, just back from the Southamerica Dakar Rally, have touched Dutch ground for only 2 weeks and have already left to the United Arab Emirates.
The team is represented by youngster Sam Sunderland (Dubai/UK), who had a number of stage victories in the Desert Challenge last year. Alongside Sam, Juan Carlos Salvatierra is running the Desert Challenge. For Juan Carlos this is his first participation in the Desert Challenge. He already started well this year by riding a great Dakar finishing as best non-elite rider.
Besides the English Sam and the Bolivian Juan Carlos, the team added another four international riders. Daniel Gouet and Jeremias Israel represent Chile, Vadym Prytuliak and Viacheslav Pashchenko representing Kazakhstan and Russia.
This year there are four rounds of the FIM World Cup. The second round in the World Championship is also organized in the Arabic Region: Following 1.5 weeks after Abu Dhabi, the "Sealine Baja Qatar" is starting at April 15. Both rounds are used by various riders and teams as a first preparation for Dakar 2013.
