|Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge: Russian Vladimir Vasilyev - "Fight for a podium"|
After the two World Cup rounds "Baja Russia Northern Forest" and "Italian Baja", the Russian Vladimir Vasilyev will also be at the start of the third FIA-round, the "Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge" - together with navigator Konstantin Zhiltsov and again with a German X-raid Mini All4 Racing.
The two Russians intends to overcome all sand challenges and traps and to earn a new portion of points in FIA classification. Considering that in Abu Dabi against the shorter weekend-Bajas the scored points will double valued, the rally promises to be spectacular and uncompromising - not only for the Mini-crew.
"We prepared seriously for the race and are adjusted to fight," said Vladimir Vasilyev. "Based on experience and knowledge of features of this route, we will try to develop the correct tactics. The list of participants includes very strong crews, which will be very interesting. As well as at the previous two events of the FIA World Cup, our purpose is to fight for a podium!"
The 24th edition of the Middle East’s first world championship motor sport event started with a power-packed super special spectator stage sending 108 drivers and riders from 32 countries on Friday (April 4th).
The next days will bring the 290-km Yas Marina Circuit special stage, the ADNOC (269 km), Qasr Al Sarab (256 km) and Nissan Patrol (239 km) special stages, all centred on the desert bivouac, before the 244 km Abu Dhabi Aviation stage takes the survivors back to the finish on Yas Island next Thursday (10 April).
