 | Africa Eco Race: Jacky Loomans - "For me Dakar will always stay in Africa".
|

 | | | On Monday, December 27th the 3rd "Africa Eco Race" starts with the technical and administrative scrutineering in France. The Rally was founded by the former Dakar-Winner and organizer Hubert Auriol, today the French Rally-legend René Metge is the head of the Rally.
Finishing on the fifth overall position last January on the Lac Rose near Dakar/Senegal, the Belgian businessman Jacky Loomans will take part in his 23rd big African rally 2011. Driving an Overdrive Nissan Pickup and navigated by Frits Driesmans, Loomans aspires this time to a final podium.
"For me, this race is synonymous of annual leaves" the Belgian told. "It makes me feel good and I forget the daily worries. I never take a shovel in the car. Then, we are motivated not to be stucked! I chose the Africa Eco Race because, for me, Dakar will always stay in Africa. What I lived last year was doubtless the most beautiful experience of my career. The atmosphere, the conviviality, and an incredible sporting challenge: nothing comparable with which I was proposed in South America two years ago. This year, I am certain that the driving level will be sharply higher. A minimum of mistakes should be made."
