 | Africa Eco Race: On the way to Africa after scrutineering in the south of France.

 Close to Narbonne, in the heart of the great domain of the Château de Lastours, the third edition of the Africa Eco Race started on Monday, December 27th.
Despite some delays and difficulties of traffic in this bad weather period, about fifty cars, bikes and trucks were expected today for administrative and technical checks. The friendly atmosphere was already there before joining Almeria's harbour Tuesday. From December 29th the first Moroccan stage between Nador and Borj Bel Freissat will allow to draw a first hierarchy.
The cars competitors of this new edition of the Africa Eco Race promise a beautiful battle between the regular entrants of the race as Jean-Louis Schlesser and François Léthier on their two wheel-drive Buggies, Nissan Navara of Jacky Loomans, Abdelhamid Abouyoussef Desert Warrior and the Wildcat Trophy drivers Jérôme Pélichet, Michel Visy or Gaëtan Ge.
But the Belgian Stéphane Henrard, last minute entrant is well decided to play disorder as well as MD rally sport buggies of Régis Delahaye and Jean-Noël Julien very motivated too.
In the truck category, Elisabete Jacinto still here this year, driving her MAN as well as the Hungarian Miklos Kovacs on his Scania and the Czech Tomas Tomecek on his TATRA. Elisabete is ready for the fight facing strong competitors. The Belgians Essers and Tielen as well as the French Salvatore won’t be here for fun.
In bike category, Norbert Dubois is ready for a two weeks intensive race while Willy Jobard will try the adventure on his special KTM and will face Thomas Bourgin and Bruno N’Diaye on his BMW.
From Tuesday - straight to the South! First Spain for boarding on Almeria’s harbour, then from Wednesday onwards, the caravan will land on African ground for the first leg.
