|Australasian Safari: Competitors from all around the globe - Rallysafe System|
"The level of competition in this year’s 2014 "Australasian Safari" is exciting," said the organizers of the Australian Rally today (Tuesday). "We have competitors coming from all round the globe - places such as Italy, Slovenia, Latvia, Sri Lanka, Botswana and South Africa, just to name a few." The event will take place from September 19-27.
With just four months left until close of entries, time is running out to challenge yourself against these seasoned off-road competitors in Western Australia’s most unforgiving terrain. All the information you need to enter the 2014 Australasian Safari can be found on the Competitor’s page on the official website [ AUSTRALASIANSAFARI.COM ].
The organizers are back from the recent course recon, which went very well. "We are really excited about this year's route and looking forward to announcing our host towns in the near future," the team reported.
With the large amount of International entries the Freight Assistance Package is nearly at capacity. "If you are from abroad and thinking about entering Safari, please contact us as soon as possible to avoid disappointment later on," the organization said.
Not all of the 100 competitors are expected to complete the gruelling navigational rally event - but for those who complete the 3,500 kilometer off-road course, the finish arch on Kalbarri Foreshore will no doubt be a welcome sight.
Event Director Justin Hunt says the popular Western Australian holiday spot will provide the perfect atmosphere for the event’s finale: "Kalbarri is no stranger to hosting the Australasian Safari, however this will be the first time the event has finished in this picturesque coastal town," he said. The people of Kalbarri have always been enthusiastic and supportive of Safari, which the event organisers truly appreciate. We look forward to celebrating Safari’s finish with the Kalbarri locals and holidaymakers."
Australasian Safari takes the safety of its competitors very seriously. "We are always on the hunt for new ways to make our event safer, so this year we are implementing Rally-safe devices on ALL competitor’s vehicles (Auto, Moto, Quad, SxS)."
The Rally-safe unit is a small electronic module fitted to a vehicle for use by the navigator and driver. It incorporates a full colour display, key pad, accelerometers, a radio transceiver, GPS, GSM and satellite communications capabilities. The Rally-safe electronic device uses all of this latest technology to automatically transmit warnings and vehicle status data from unit to unit and to Race Control as quickly an efficiently as possible.
