 | Australia 2010: Outer Bounds Racing heads to MTQ Griffith 700 Rally.
|
Outer Bounds Racing with its three car pro buggy team is on a mission this upcoming weekend, July 24-25, as they contest round 3 of the Australian Off-Road Racing series, the MTQ Griffith 700. The team will be fielding 3 Jimco buggys, Travis Robinson along with Paul Currie will be in the Twin Turbo Nissan Jimco, Beau Robinson with Adam Trewhella are in the #85 Twin Turbo Nissan Jimco and Brian Robinson and Andy Brown will be campaigning the #84 Chev powered Jimco.
The previous round at the Finke was filled with bittersweet results for the WA based team as Beau Robinson and brother Travis qualified first and second but neither vehicle made it to Finke. This left dad, Brian Robinson to bring it home for the team in 5th place.
"We have spent a huge amount of time on the cars trying to get them right. Murray and the boys have done a great job sorting out everything," said Beau Robinson. "With the amount of time these cars will be racing for on sunday means that we have to make sure we look after them accordingly."
"We were really unlucky at Finke, we prologued good and we were setting decent times so I hope we can do the same thing here at Griffith" said Travis "I think our experiences in Baja and the Safari will help us here aswell."
The format of the Griffith 700 event is unlike any other in the Australian off-road championship, in the way that it consists of a 700km non-stop format. Teams will stop for fuel only and all service will be in their own time.
"The fact that this event is 700ks non-stop means that there will be much more attrition. I think I have a good car, Andy and I should have fun "said Brian. "the boys will have their work cut-out for them with the high strung turbo cars but hopefully they have a clean run."
