 | Australia 2010: Outer Bounds Racing ready for Season opener "Hyden 450".
|
Perth based Off-Road Racing outfit Outer Bounds Racing are ready to take on the harsh conditions of the West Australian wheatbelt as well as the top drivers from around Australia in the 2010 Hyden 450 on the Easter long weekend. As the pieces fall into place for the first round of the 2010 Australian Off-Road Racing Championship, the OBR team finds itself in great shape to take on the growing amount of competitors taking on the championship.
The teams line-up once again sees Travis Robinson teaming up with Paul Currie in the V8 Jimco Pro Buggy, after taking 3rd outright at Hyden last year and going on to clinch 3rd in the 2009 Championship they will most certainly be the ones to watch during the Easter long-weekend.
"We had a great year last year but we are definatly looking to do better again in 2010. We have a new Twin-Turbo Jimco ready but have opted to get back in the V8 car as we feel that if we can get a strong finish at Hyden in the "old girl" it will allow us to test the new car thoroughly before the Finke Desert Race" Said Travis.
After a trying season in 2009 Beau Robinson and Roy Lukies will be looking for a bit of consistency going into the 2010 season. They will once again campaign the V6 Twin-Turbo Jimco Pro Buggy in their shot at the championship.
"Obviously we did not have the best year in 2009, we had the new car arrive just before Finke and it turned out to be a great event in which we got 3rd outright. But unfortunately the rest of the season was the complete opposite. We have been been right through the car and Murray has made a heap of changes so we feel we have got it sorted, testing went good the other day so hopefully we have everything in place for some reliability" Said Beau.
Although not racing much in 2009 the pairing of Brian Robinson and Trent Gilbertson will also be ones to watch at the opening round in Hyden. With a heap of time and effort going into sorting the torque convertor system on the teams #84 BFGoodrich Tyres Porter Pro Buggy the whole OBR team feels this car is now the best it has ever been.
"Prior to the Gas Dash in late 2009 we made a few changes to the car which has completely transformed it. It is the best it has ever handled so hopefully as long as we can avoid any trouble we should be able to bring home a good strong finish. The boys are ready to go, Muz has been doing a great job down the raceshop making sure that all the cars are in top condition so hopefully we can do our job and do well for the team" Stated Brian.
