Baja Spain: Baja officially presented in Zaragoza.

The official presentation of the Baja España Madrid-Zaragoza has taken place at the Camara de Comercio of Zaragoza, directed by Mr Juan Alberto Belloch, Major of Zaragoza. Mr Javier Callizo, Vice-conselleur of Tourism of the Aragon government was also at the presentation, as well as Mr Manuel Vidal, Sports director of the RACE, and Mr Jose Antonio Vicente, director of the Zaragoza Meeting Point. At the event, all the media have been told about the itinerary of the Baja and the points of interest that the organization has planed during the race.

One of the important things about the Baja that everybody has noticed is that it’s going to be a show-window for Aragon. There has been a great welcome by all Institutions, and they want the race to become a part of next year’s World Raid Cup. The World Cup is going to happen just before the Expo Zaragoza 2008.

At the presentation we could see famous faces like Marc Coma, who has changed his bike for a car for the first time, and Isidre Esteve, who’s going to try his sixth victory with a bike. Marc Blazquez was there too, looking for his first triumph with a car, and Nani Roma, who’s not going to compete but wanted to show his support to the organization of the race.

The itinerary of the Baja España Madrid - Aragón 2006 is going to drive trough three communities and four provinces, so that it’s going to make a total of 862 km in 57 places; 1 in Madrid , 19 in Soria, 27 in Zaragoza and 10 in Teruel. There are going to take part 180 bikes and quads, 108 cars and 8 trucks, with the representation of six high level automobile manufacturers.
