Baja Spain: Blazquez, Rivera and Oliveras leading in Spain

| |
| At today’s journey Victor Rivera with his bike and Marc Blázquez with the car have been the winners and therefore clasificated for the first leg of tomorrow. The circuit of Jarama surprised riders and fans for it’s high level and for the high temperatures: 35 degrees at the time the first rider was starting. The favourite ones ran more than one hour later, about 5.30pm, like Isidre Esteve, who was the last before cars started. The first car was the VW driven by Sousa at 5.45pm.
Marc Bláquez has acquired a clear first position driving the fastest since the first moment and taking 4 sec advantage to Ramos. Sousa, another favourite, will start the first leg with a 52sec difference with Blazquez. Other expected riders like Edi Orioli, the four times Dakar champion, and Marc Coma, who’s driving a car for the first time, have got the 5th and the 32nd position respectively.
Talking about bikes, the winner of today has been Victor Rivera, taking a 9.2sec advantage to Isidre Esteve, the five-times winner of the Baja. The winner of the trucks race has been David Oliveras with his Mercedes..
Tomorrow the first leg will start at 7am from the Paseo de la Castellana in Madrid and will do a route of 480km until Zaragoza. The first 200km are going to be timed in two special stages. At 11.40am there is going to be a meeting in Soria and the first rider is supposed to arrive at 4.51pm in Zaragoza.
