Baja Terras del Cid: Race diary of Jaime Batista – Part 3.

| |
|
 | | | It is always interesting to learn about how do those guys in the cockpit see the rallies from the inside. This weekend we have the honour to publish the diary of Jaime Baptista, co-driver of reigning Portuguese Champion Filipe Campos (X-Raid BMW X3 CC) from the Baja Tierras de Cid in Burgos, Spain.
”The Yser Racing Team had a great weekend. Me and Filipe [Campos] won the Beja Tierras d’El Cid and Bernardo [Moniz da Maia] and Joana [Sotto-Mayor] got the second place. This was great, on an event that I liked very much. We went back to a kind of event that we are not used to anymore. This event was like the ones we used to race in my early years in cross-country rallies. Long race, with very few indications on the road. The road book was very well done and for us was a great race, beginning with the way how we where received here in Burgos.
We felt no difficulties and rhythm was moderate during the whole race. We knew the differences to the other cars, so there was no need to push harder. We have accomplished our goal of helping the team to fight for the Iberian trophy.
Besides that we are very happy with the result of our team-mate, Bernardo, who was second and maintains the lead of the trophy, the next event of which is Portalegre. For the Portuguese championship, we will get back to work next friday, in Castelo Branco.”
