|Balkan-Breslau: On Sunday the rally moved from Teteven to Starosel.|
The stage on Sunday was bringing the participants from Teteven near the city of Starosel, where the rally will stay for two nights. The stage was splitted in three timed sections with 191 kilometers for the "Cross Country" class and 186 kms for the "Extreme" class.
The participants had to cross narrow and dark forests, some mountains and wide open areas. The route was fast but partially tough and stony with many holes and jumps, so the first participants damaged their cars and had to repair and weld in the evening. The Swiss Range Rover crew Francois Bonny / Georges Vuille had to stop with a damaged front suspension, but they could continue after they repaired the car in the stage.
The good news: The weather totally changed - and also the colour of the landscape. Near Teteven on Friday we had heavy rainfalls and the temperatures fell down up to 15 degrees. Today the summer came back: Hot sun and nearly 27 degrees in the shadow, the colour of the landscape changed from green to yellow, the routes became very dry and dusty - you could simply feel that there was no rain for a long time in this region.
The bad news of the day was an accident of the Israelian biker Omer Shoshany who was hit by a branch, fell from the bike and was unconscious for a moment. Some bikes stopped and helped him, the German rider Tina Meier and an other participant stayed at him until the medicals arrived at the accident. He has pain but actually nothing is broken. As he said, he will not ride again but will stay with the rally.
