|Balkan-Breslau: When FIA drivers don´t trust Amateur...and will like it.|
Today we saw again a happy face from Israel - but if you think it was Raz Heyman - no! Gal Shacham and Ofir Nimrod with their incredible Chevrolet "Coca Cola Zero" Prototype were the fastest car today in the Cross Country class, showing an incredible pace.
"We wer flying" Gal laughed in the evening. "This stage was great, very fast. Our car is made for that." They finished the stage in 04:47:33 hours, nearly 9 minutes in front of the second fastest car, the "Rallying Major" Milen Lilev from Teteven and his codriver Atanas Delev (Jeep, 04:56:20) and Petar Cenkov / Ivan Marinov in the Opel Antara RR (04:58:54).
"This is our first time in the Breslau Rally," Gal Shacham said. "We heard from Raz Heyman about this rally and he told us that it is really worth it. I said to myself, hmmm, an Amateur Rally, I don´t trust in this normally because I am driving FIA and under these conditions. He told me, that it will be ok. For us it is a big budget to come here. After all, I said `yes`. Now I am so happy that we started here. The rally is great, the landscape fascinating, the mood between the participants so friendly. I will be back, I promise!"
In the evening, Gal was really in a good mood. "We just had a special competition today," he told. "The helicopter was following us and we were wondering, who will be faster, we or the helicopter. Don´t laugh, we won the competition - we were faster! On the fast tracks we reached 182 km/h...incredible!"
His teammate Raz Heyman with the yellow Mitsubishi had a bad day... he had problems with the navigation and lost a lot of time...
