|Balkan Offroad: J. Lukas and Camporese/Terranova Prologue winners.|
That´s the good point if you are in a country, in which you nearly can drive everywhere: You have nice and beautiful Rally routes. So also here in Bulgaria: For the prologue the organisers created a 15 kilometers route, directely through the forest, splitted in total off-road and fast but narrow pists.
The weather was different again. Here in the hills in 1300 meters altitude, the morning began extremely cold. Ony midday the sun cames through and the temperatures climbed up to 26 degrees, some hurs later "the fog" came back - like in an b-movie - and it become with 13 degrees cold again.
So let´s start with the motobikes and quads, which are concluded in one class. The Austrian KTM-driver Johannes Lukas set the pace with 14:18 minutes, only 20 seconds in front of the Bulgarian Zornitsa Todorova (KTM), followed by the Czech Vlastimil Tosenovsky (KTM, 14:51).
In the cars only 23 vehicles instead of named 31 started in the race today. The result was not a surprise: The Italian crew Camporese/Terranova made the race in 15:04 minutes with their FIA Isuzu D-Max Prototype, followed by their team-mates Cangi/Cavianto in their FIA-Isuzu Trooper (15:41), third was the Bulgarian duo Kolec/Kolev (Nissan Patrol, 15:43 minutes).
Tomorrow at 7:00 in the morning (local time) the quads and bikes will start in the first stage, which is situated in the hills but also in the valley around the City of Plovdiv. The cars will follow at 9:00 local time. The Rally will stay in Plovdiv until Tuesday, on Wednesday the participants will cross the Greece border. Stay tuned!
