 | Balkan Offroad: Marathonrally from Bulgaria to Greece to start this Friday.

 Eastern Europe is becoming more and more interesting for the Offroad Motorsport. After 2009 on this weekend (Sept. 3rd) the "Balkan Offroad Marathon" will be start for the second time and will finish on September 11th.
The "Balkan Offroad Marathon" is an licence-free marathonrally for all-terrain vehicles with weight up to 3,5 tons, motorcycles, ATV/Quad and trucks. The track consist speed tracks, tracks for skilful driving, liaisons and special stages crossing the territory of Bulgaria and Greece.
The start will be in Plovdiv in the middle of Bulgaria, 150 kms south-east from the Bulgarian capital Sofia - and will be a big show. Combining with the Rally the organizers arranged the "Offroad Arena" exhibition and event to involve fans and spectators not only with the rally but with all kinds of the fantastic offroad sport.
31 cars, 18 motobikes and 12 Quads signed up for the second edition of this new innovative Rally - the competitors came from Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Germany, Slowenia, Romania, Austria, Czech Republic and Macedonia. The route from Plovdiv (Bulgaria) to Yanina (Greece) is splitted in 7 stages, which are a mix of fast speedtracks and difficult offroad passages - no not only speed is counting. The route contains more then 1.600 kilometers in racing.
