 | Balkan Offroad: Rally started with "Arena Offroad" Event in the Plovdiv Hills.

On Saturday the "Balkan Offroad" Marathon from Bulgaria to Greece startet with the "Arena Offroad" Event in the Hills near the town Plovdiv in the middle of Bulgaria. The "Arena Offroad" is a combination of exhibition, offroad-trial (open for everyone), show and party.
The Event is located in an forest area, 1300 metres high. In the summer this region is for touristical enjoyment, in the winter this is a big winter-sport region.
For the competitors Saturday was a rest day and time for the paperwork. The Rally will start on Sunday with the technical scrutineering in the morning and the prologue in the middle of Plovdiv. Nearly 60 competitors signed up for the licence-free event, open for cars, motobikes and quads. The route will be about 1800 kilometres from the middle of Bulgaria into Greece, maybe 150 kilometres south-west from the city Thessaloniki.
