BITD 2007: Team Toyo Off-Road's LeDucs enjoying a perfect season

Scoring a perfect season in any sport is truly remarkable, especially in the inhospitable realm of off-road racing where both man and machine can easily falter while negotiating the punishing terrain. So far in 2007, Curt LeDuc and sons Todd and Kyle with navigator, Brent Wendt; have won their class in every desert race they have entered while driving their Rockstar Energy Drink/Toyo Tires/Skyjacker Ford truck, including last weekend's Las Vegas 300.

Competing on 37X13.50R17 ToyoR Open Country M/TR tires, the team from Cherry Valley, California; has accomplished this remarkable 2007 desert racing season record:

- February - 1st in Class 8000 of the BITD Blue Water Resort Parker 425
- May - 1st in Class 8000 at the BITD Terrible's Town 250
- June - 1st in Class in the SNORE KC HiLights Midnight Special
- August - 1st in Class 8000 of the BITD TSCO "Vegas to Reno"
- October - 1st in Class 8000 of the BITD Las Vegas 300

Last weekend's "Best In The Desert Las Vegas 300" proved the most challenging.

"My dad (Curt) started the race and hit a rock the size of a washing machine in the heavy dust," said Todd LeDuc, co-driver for this event. "The impact broke a driveshaft, taking 11-minutes for us to repair. By the time he brought the truck in for our scheduled driver change, we were in the lead again by ten seconds. I then had to make up time after that pit stop. The course was really rocky, but we had no flats. we had so much confidence in our Toyo tires that we did not have to pit to make a tire change."

Curt and Todd LeDuc finished seventh overall and first in Class 8000, a remarkable 12-minutes ahead of their next class competitor in second place. Also remarkable is the fact that the team also completed the entire race on a single set of Toyo Open Country M/T tires.

"The LeDucs are once again proving why they are champions of desert racing, and we congratulate them on winning five races in a row," said Stan Chen, manager of events and motorsports, Toyo Tire (U.S.A.) Corporation. "We are proud of the Open Country M/T tires which time and time again prove that they have what it takes to help win championships in off-road racing." The LeDucs have one remaining race to clinch the championship at the Henderson 400 during December 1st - 3rd.
