Robby Gordon swept the "BlueWater Desert Challenge" in Parker, Arizona (USA) this past weekend. Driving the #1537 open wheel ‘truggy’ equipped with Toyo Open Country M/T-R tires; Gordon dominated the three day event which consisted of Friday qualifying and two segments of racing.
During Friday’s qualifying, Gordon topped the charts with a time of 3:02.466 for an average speed of 59.19-mph. Toyo tires were also on the truck of the second fastest qualifier, BJ Baldwin. Baldwin drove the #1 Chevy Silverado class 1400 Trick Truck to a time of 3:03.353 at 58.90-mph.
During Saturday and Sunday’s three-lap, 26-mile per lap races; Gordon won overall each day with more than a two-minute margin of victory. His cumulative time for the race was a 2:42:52, beating the second overall finisher by more than 4.5 minutes. BJ Baldwin finished second in class 1400 and fifth overall with a cumulative time of 02:52:02.
"The Bluewater Challenge was an awesome weekend for us. We went there and did the three things we wanted to do, basically shut the weekend out" said Robby Gordon. "We qualified the fastest, beating all the buggies and the trophy trucks. We won Saturday’s race which was three minutes faster than the trophy truck times. Sunday’s race we came back and beat them by four minutes."

During the 2012 "Best In The Desert" racing season, Toyo Tires equipped vehicles have won overall at all but one race in the series. In February, Robby Gordon won the Bluewater Resort and Casino Parker 425 overall. In March, he won overall in the Mint 400.
In May, BJ Baldwin won the Canidae Tap It Silver State 300 overall, while Robby Gordon won his class and placed third overall. During the Vegas to Reno race in August, Robby Gordon carried the Toyo Tires name to second overall. This weekend’s BlueWater Desert Challenge was yet another overall victory for Robby Gordon and Toyo Tires.

In The Desert series championship, Gordon will compete in the next and final race of the season, the Transwest Ford Henderson 250 November 30 and December 1 and 2 in Henderson, Nevada.
