BITD: Curt LeDuc wins Toyo-debut at the Blue Water Resort Parker 425.

Veteran off-road racer, Curt LeDuc, piloted his Rockstar Ford truck to 1st in the Class 8000 Truck Class of the Blue Water Resort Parker 425 this past weekend in Parker, Arizona (USA). This is Curt LeDuc's first time competing on Toyo Open Country M/TT tires, sharing driving duties with sons Todd and Kyle over the course of three laps during the grueling race.

This year's race had a record number of entries (approximately 230), but the punishing conditions caused a high rate of attrition resulting in only 81 finishers. Even though the team's 2WD production-style truck had a spectacular qualifying run on a course, which favors lightweight, single seat buggies, a 110-place starting position was drawn meaning the course would be covered in traffic. Driving the first lap, Curt LeDuc passed nearly fifty vehicles to arrive in 62nd overall before handing the driving duties to youngest son Kyle. Kyle, with navigator Brent Wendt, continued their run up through the field. For the last lap, Todd LeDuc took over as the pilot of the vehicle, making this a true family victory while putting a stamp on the LeDuc off-road racing dynasty.

According to Curt LeDuc, "People were already talking about our Toyo tires when we made such a great qualifying run. Racing for the first time on Toyo's I had to adjust my driving style, as the truck had more response and better feedback through the steering. This meant I didn't have to throw the truck hard into a turn to make the corner." LeDuc then said, "Our Toyo Open Country M/T tires didn't let us down."

According to Steve Hutchinson, Senior Director of Marketing, Toyo Tire (U.S.A.) Corporation, "We are excited that Curt LeDuc has joined Team Toyo. Curt's win during his first outing on our tires proves this will be a great relationship, and we are proud our 37X13.50R17 Toyo Open Country M/T tires were able to deliver this victory."
