 | Breslau Rally: 250 participants to start in Poland 2012 - new finish Germany.
|
The legendary "Breslau Rally", a unique combination of rallyraid, trophy, speed and mud, will make it´s 18th round in Poland and 19th round overall in 2012. The rally was once again fully booked within weeks.
250 participants - this was the official limit. 60 bikes, 14 quads, 10 SSV, 130 cars and 36 trucks were registered. Now registration is possible only through waiting list, but there is still hope for the latecomers, because if someone withdraws, the free space will be allocated.
A lot of international riders registered. Some drivers of the Dakar will also be there, drivers are coming from Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Germany, France, Britain, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Switzerland and Hungary.
This year the start will take place in northern Poland, east of Drawsko Pomorskie. Against the years before, the rally will not finish in the City of Dresden, but eventually in the area of the "Baja 300" near Leipzig. Officially the organisation told: "Since two sites are being considered, we will ask you to be patient whilst waiting to find out more."
Compared to 2012, there are 80% of new tracks of which 4 new daily stages in totally new areas with new challenges. Similarly, the Hannibal stage (notorious north-south stage) will be extended by a few more kilometers.
There are changes this year to the timekeeping. Since the lists displaying the times in the past were repeatedly delayed by changes in the timing (which was due to the old rules of the Breslau were any time penalty was based on the time of the last vehicle of the days stage), this year we will introduce a maximum time. Also, each vehicle will receive a scorecard.
The experience of recent years with all possible technical solutions and the reintroduction at the "Breslau Balkan", of the tested and approved scorecard, has strengthened and confirmed this decision.
The scorecard gives each participant the information on the allotted time / maximum time for the stage, the participants’ time, and the number of CPs obtained will be given immediately upon crossing the finish line in the presence of the participant. Similarly, there will be a maximum time penalty.
Again this year, Gerd Kastenmeier and his team, will join the rally caravan with his excellent catering service. By popular demand, the kitchen will be more international and there will be several dish choices.
