|Breslau TICKER: Welcome to the 20th Edition - Rally starts with prologue.|
At 11:00 CET this Saturday, the 20th anniversary edition of the legendary "Breslau" rally has started with the prologue at the "Lausitzring" near the city of Senftenberg in south-east Germany. The motobikes and quads opened the stage, trucks and cars will follow after midday...
The prologue course is based spectator-friendly directly next to the paddock of the Lausitzring and resembles a motocross track with lots of jumping hills, water crossings and a short passage through a green forest. Fans, spectators and service-members have to walk easily maximum 50 meters to watch the race live.
"We have time, lot of time," said Henrik Strasser, official clerk of the course. "The prologue is open from 11:00 am to 07:00 pm. We have to see how it´s going on....it depends on the weather, the water, the sand, the drivers... the track could change its face and usability from easy to tough - or not...nobody knows...so this is why we set the maximum time wide open..."
A first biker was too fast in the first round, rolled and was lighty injured... his race is over - 10 minutes after the start of the race!
This year, nearly 190 participants passed the technical scrutineering on Friday and are allowed to start in the race. But the most-asked question is: "Where is the summer"? Even we are in one of the hottest regions of Germany (Lausitz-area), the sky is cloudy, the wind is cold and we have nearly 15-17 degrees...in the end of June!
