Central Europe Rally: Loprais claims second place in the first special.

The 63-kilometer special offered and efficient mixture of soft and hard surface with deep ditches and was cut through sections in the woods and an attractive water crossing. "It was definitely the hardest Eurpean stage I have ever done, despite the length. The organizers are most probably trying to meet the legendary difficulty of the Dakar," pilot Ales Loprais said.

A tiny trouble occurred in the second half because of a slow puncture. "It happened in a sharp right curve when the tire lost contact with the disc. Ales could hear it through an open window. Milan Holan had to inflate the tire for the rest of the stage and we rechecked everything," navigator Ladislav Lala said,"because of that, the 25-second delay is more than acceptable."

At the finish, Ales was followed by a roaring duo of Ginaf Rally Power trucks (Van Vlient and Van Ginkel) with Andre Azevedoon a tatra, the "black horse" pep Vila on a Mercedes and the yellow Liaz of Martin Macik.

Right after the finish, organizes build a perfect assistance park with a full-size press center. The entire convoy ad to go for a 400-km liaison to Baia Mare. Loprais Tatra Team reached the destination at 10 p.m. The assistance park is situated in the very center of the city. The coming problem will offer two pairs of hilly circuits around Baia Mare, 76 kilometers each, with lots of interesting stuff on the way.
