Central Europe Rally: Loprais Tatra Team joins the Dakar Series.

The launch of the Dakar Series by A.S.O. could not leave the racing plans of the Czech Loprais Tatra Team untouched. After a thorough reconsideration of the overall situation the decision to join the Central Europe Rally in Hungaria and Romania has been finally made. The new rally will take place on April 19-26, with the start in Budapest and finish at the Balaton lake. In 6 stages with a wide variety of surfaces and a rather technical route, competitors will cover nearly 3000 kilometers.

"It is clear that huge crowds of fans from all over Central Europe will take their way to Hungary," says Ales Loprais," they will be there to meet not only us but also many elite competitors in all categories. The conditions for competitors in terms of registration are very competitive and are surely worth using."

The starting list is only filling up now but is is clear that works teams will take part in all categories. For the organizers it will be a live rehearsal to show whether the idea of Dakar Series shall grow in the future. In the truck category, tens of vehicles are expected, including hot favorites like Ginaf rally Power, Andre de Azevedo on a Tatra or the complete Tedom Team. Loprais Tatra
Team is furthermore planning another test session in Slovakia.
