Central Europe Rally: What they said / Interviews after SS2 of Stage 2.

Giniel De Villiers (Volkswagen): "It was very muddy, too wet. We had problem with the windscreen wiper, we lost 5 minutes trying to repair it on the first special. In the second lap everything was OK. We’ll see what’s going to happen tomorrow."

Dieter Depping (Volkswagen): "I love the race, especially today. It was a rally-like track and we modified our suspension a bit so everything went fine. But there are still so many stages to run, we have to remain concentrated."

Balázs Szalay (Opel Antara, Hungary): "In the first lap we had a problem with windscreen wiper and we didn’t see anything. But the car is very strong and easyto drive now so we still reached the finish in 14th position."

Andy Grider (co-driver of Robby Gordon, Hummer): "It was a muddy track for a 2WD it didn’t suit too well. But we didn’t make yesterday’s mistakes again and the second lap was perfect."

BJ Baldwin (Hummer): "I enjoyed the second lap more than the first one. I lost some time due to technical problems but generally the car worked great. These tracks are not for 2WD, we are slower here than for 4WDs."

Stéphane Peterhansel (Mitsubishi): "It was like Camel Trophy! Small rivers, snow... It was really slippery and dangerous. In the second lap the track was even more destroyed but also more dry. We couldn’t find a good rhythm all day long. But we are in the lead now and happy with that."

Stéphane Henrard (Volkswagen Tarek): "The second lap it was more technical I liked it more. We kept the positive aspects of the tracks and lost the negative ones. It was a good idea to shorten the lap, I hope they will do the same tomorrow."

Morgan Picard (Subaru, France): "It’s the first race for our car and apart from a flat tire we had no problem. It worked perfectly!"

Nasser Saleh Al-Attiyah (X-Raid BMW): "We had good concentration in the second lap and finally we won it so we are very happy. Tomorrow it’s going to be very interesting, because the gap is quite small. The competition here is really strong."
