|Croatia Rally: Edi Ederer the fastest in Croatia, Tonetti third behind Gehri|
After the longest stage of the "Croatia Rally" on Monday, Marco Borsi - the organizer of the 2014 Croatia Rally Dalmatia - decided to give the riders a day of relaxation.
"It's always been our strategy, even last year, two days of competition, one for relaxation and another two days of competition," he said. And so, after Monday´s long big stage, everyone can breathe a little bit and enjoy the beautiful beach of Primosten who welcomed this race, on the shores of Dalmatia with truly extraordinary and sunny days.
This morning, the riders were forced to a early wake up since the race started at 6:00 am with a transfer, magnificent, for land and views, of about 120 km to arrive at the point of departure of the first special stage of 13 kilometers.
97 percent of the riders in the race finished the stage, much to the satisfaction of Marco Borsi and all his staff and at the top of the stage is the German Edi Ederer who finished in second place the first stage and then won the second one.
His Suzuki RMX 450 - more powerful than the KTM 350 EXC of Nicola Tonetti - it was very helpful in the steep climbs and the stretch of the second special, which closed with a lead of 1:11 minutes over Tonetti. The Italian won the first stage of the morning trimming 10" to Ederer but he was then forced to succumb in the second test. The ranking displayed a few minutes ago, however, does not yet calculate the penalty that it will be calculated tonight and tomorrow morning, because as there is no competition, there is plenty of time to do so.
The ranking of the second day, therefore, see Ederer leader with 56 seconds on Michael Gehri and 1:11 mins on Tonetti. Good performance for the Swiss Cesare Gallina: He is fourth ahead of Mattia Riva and Piero Griffa slide to eighth position. The Swiss Gheri yesterday was 41st and therefore his exploits today, which sent him into second place overall thanks to a seventh and a second place in the two PS, will certainly occurred with the control equipment of the track.
Very good job for all the girls in the race that have come to the finish line this afternoon with no big mistakes, unlike many male colleagues. The best today was Serena Borsi (Husqvarna 350) in front of Lorella Trubiani (Yamaha) and Serena.
To talk about the overall standings we will have to wait tomorrow morning because in fact the first count of the crono times doesn't take count any cuts or track mistake where you might stumble penalty for a speeding. All calculations are done by the organization to return to the stage, the second day of the Croatia Rally Dalmatia, and for this it will still take a little bit of time.
