Dakar 2008: Czech Loprais-Tatra Team on the way to Lisbon.

Today, on New Year’s Day, Loprais Tatra Team set out for the long trip to the start of the 30th Dakar. On 1pm a fleet of 3 Tatra trucks and a press car Nissan Navara left the team headquarteres in Frenstat pod Radhostem. Fans enjoyed a cup of a special New Year’s mead and made the even tuned up in a genuine Valachian style.
On the way, the team stopped to greet numerous fans in Prague where it received a special goodbyes by a long-time fan, Mrs. Dana Zatopkova, an Olympic Champion of 1952. Fans arrived from all over Bohemia - some to just shake hands, some to a have look at details of the trucks to make models of them, some just being curious. After 30 minutes the team moved to Pilsen for a similar stop for Tatra customers of West Bohemia. After that, all vehicles left for Lisbon. The press car need to reach it until January 3 for the scrutineerings. All trucks will enter the race scrutineerings on Friday, January 4.
