| |
| Source: [ www.russiatoday.ru ] In Moscow, a farewell ceremony has been held for the Russian truck team, KAMAZ-Master, as they get ready to leave for Portugal to take part in the 2008 Lisbon-to-Dakar rally. The team has won the the off-road competition seven times, including six titles in the last eight years.
In 2007, they were beaten to the top spot by the German MAN truck, driven by Dutchman Hans Stacey. KAMAZ has unveiled a new truck for the rally, following new regulations that require the use of more mass-produced parts. More than 500 teams from 50 countries will start the Dakar 2008 on January 5 in Lisbon and head to the finish line at Pink Lake in Senegal.
