 | Dakar Pre-Proloog: Holland is inviting rally fans to the Dakar "pre-prologue".
|
Only nearly one week to go: On Sunday November 11th the Dutch city of Valkenswaard is inviting the European Dakar-fans again for the "Dakar Pre-Proloog", in which Dutch Rally Teams introduced a private, spectator friendly race-event with most of the Dutch Dakar-competitors.
"Due to logistical reasons, not all teams like Wevers Mitsubishi or Van Merksteijn/Overdrive can come, but we still have the confirmation of 24 race trucks, 4 cars / buggies, 3 quads and 20 motorcycles which is great" said William Zweerts de Jong from the organisation.
The "Pre-Proloog" is a traditional "Race before the race", in which the Dutch Dakar-competitors will start their own race between thousands of spectators in the middle of Europe. The trucks, cars and bikes will drive a one-day race after "knock-out"-system inside the area of the "Eurocircuit" rallycross-area in the middle of some green forests. In the paddock, a kind of mini-exhibition will be held.
Last year, the masses of spectators were responsible for many traffic jams. To prevent this, the organizers ask to use different ways to visit the event: "The best is from the A2 (Eindhoven-Maastricht), exit 34 (Valkenswaard / Heeze) and then on the N396 - or the A67 (Antwerp-Eindhoven), take exit 32 and follow the N397 towards Bergeijk / Valkenwaard."
In the morning hours (8:00 bis 11:00) there will be a breakfast for the spectators for only 2 euros, regular catering will be available all day long. Tickets are available for 18.00 euros or in advance for 15.00 euros, children cost 7.50 euros. All informations can be found online at [ PREPROLOOG.NL ].
