|Dakar Rally 2014: Xavier Foj to fight for 3rd T2 title, Jaton with 14 teams.|
Cooper Tires ambassador and Dakar-winner 2013 & 2012 in the T2-production class - Xavier Foj - will once again participate in the Dakar Rally. In order to prepare for the world’s toughest rally, the team has been testing the Toyota Land Cruiser 150, fitted with standard Discoverer S/T Maxx tyres, under the most extreme weather conditions in the desert of Morocco.
Xavier Foj together with his Argentinian navigator Ignacio Santamaria is hoping to repeat the successes in the rally as well as demonstrating the reliability of standard tires in the most challenging of environments - for him 2014 will be the 24th Dakar. The Spanish team will be asissted by "4wd Jaton Racing".
4wd Jaton Racing adds new challenges in the Dakar 2014: In this year the Spanish team is competing with 14 teams, including seven Toyotas, one Great Wall, four T3-light buggies and two quads with Sebastian Palma (Chile) and Jose Luis Espinosa (Spain).
Next to Foy / Santamaria the team will operate the Toyotas of the Ecuadorians Sebastian Guayasamin / Oscar Carreño, Eduardo Love / Ariel Jaton from Argentina, the Colombian/Argentinian pairing Antonio Marmolejo / Facundo Jaton, the Colombians Ivan Moreno / Federico Mosquera, Roberto Naivirt / Ricardo Bonazzola from Argentina and Philippe & Chistopher Kreisberger from France. The seventh car will be a Great Wall, driven by Miltiades Fretes from Paraguay and Sergio Rusconi from Argentina.
Pavel Laginov / Igor Petenko from Russia, Rodrigo Illanes / Enzo Cordano from Chile, Rayan Tenery Spencer / Thomas Steuer (USA/Canada) and Juan Jose Barbery (Argentina) will complete the team with their buggies.
