 | Estoril-Marrakech: Excellent start for Eric Vigouroux and his Trophy Truck

At the end of this first stage, composed by a super special of 3.8 km and a timed section of 170 km, the French duo Eric Vigouroux & Alex Winocq are ranked in a promising fifth place, ten minutes from the leader Filipe Campos (X-Raid BMW X3 CC).
"The first special was just a short "warm up", and we rolled without risks, taking the tenth time. That determined the starting order of the special that followed, and we were a little bit penalized by the narrow track. That didn´t take us away from overtaking two competitors and the great surprise to learn that we got the fifth time when we crossed the finish", explains Eric Vigouroux.
"The second special was traced in big forests, full of trees that surrounded the track. We finished with many pines, olives and oaks´ branches inside the car! The ground changed often, with some rough portions and others of soft sand, where you must be aware because mistakes are not allowed. Even our main rival in the World Cup, Leonid Novitskiy, left some feathers in the track, finishing the stage behind us."
"Something nice about this rally is the reception of the people in Portugal, among them, some of the people we met when we rode in quad, ten years ago. These people doesn´t stop to encourage our small team of four people, and that keeps our hearts warm," concludes Vigouroux.
