FIA Tunisia Rally: Chevrolet Trophy Truck has an excellent second place.

Since the beginning of Pro-System Racing, Eric Vigouroux and Alexandre Winocq have never obtained such a brilliant result in a round of the FIA Cross Country Worldcup. They fought till the last kilometre for victory, with their Chevrolet Trophy Truck, in a long test that was perhaps as difficult as the Dakar rally. Finally, they finished second 4:18 mins. behind Schlesser buggy of the Frech Dominique Housieaux and Jean-Michel Polato.

"This second place is the result of several years of loyalty for our initial choice of an American vehicle that was simple, highly capable and outstandingly spectacular. Chevrolet mechanics of Trophy Truck proved to be extraordinarily trustworthy. I don't know any other vehicle with same level of competitiveness that could be maintained throughout such a long rally by just two mechanics, which was the case with our very small team. This excellent result is also to be credited to our Toyo pneumatics that proved to be extremely resistant on a terrain that was as demanding as the Tunisian and Libyan tracks," analyses Eric.

"First and foremost, our race was based on consistency. We never committed any major errors. And from 3rd to 9th stage, we remained consistently at the first three places of general classification. During the last stage today, we gave it all once again. But we do not have any regrets or frustration. It is the nature of the terrain that makes the difference. The first part was technique and it suited us well. We even managed to be ahead of everyone but the end of the special favoured the peak speed of buggys too much," considers Eric.

"To conclude, I hope that this second place in a round of FIA Cross Country Worldcup will encourage our partners to support us during our next participations as well as to improve the vehicle. I'll see you all in a month's time for the start of "Saint Petersburg-Beijing" Trans-oriental. Chevrolet Trophy Truck will be ready for a sweet revenge."
