 | FIA World Cup: 2010 2-Wheel Champ Vigouroux will be back on the tracks.
|
More than a year has gone by since the French Eric Vigouroux has not had the opportunity to share the cockpit of his amazing Chevrolet Trophy-Truck with his friend and co-driver Alex Winocq, after receiving the FIA World Cup title in 2 wheels drive in 2010. This is the longest "break" since the beginning of their collaboration in 1999, and they can´t wait to be back.
This "mandatory break" was taken due to several reasons. The first one is that Eric Vigouroux meant to consecrate all his time and resources in 2011 to the construction of the new proto to prepare it for future races. Then, important family events occurred. The arrival of his third daughter, Zoé, by the end of October, and the death of his mother last December.
On his side, Alex Winocq learned that a sickness he overcame 15 years ago returned. After surgery and an adapted treatment, Winocq makes proof of his immense courage and keeps recovering in an admirable way, and hopefully will be next to Vigouroux in the next "24 hours of Morocco" from May 11th to the 17th.
After all these emotions, it is useless to explain how glad both friends are to find each other again sharing the cockpit during this next race. The main goal will be the same that they accomplished together in the first edition of the 24 Hours of Morocco in 2010. It will be hard to do better since they leaded the overall classification by winning all four legs of the race!
2012 will not only be the year of the comeback for Vigouroux and Winocq to rally raid races, but it will also be the launching of the new prototype "ET3", always under construction in the United States. This car will be the product of the experience acquired through several years with "ET2", and its traits should establish the new standards for 2wd racing cars.
Also, EVR (Eric Vigouroux Racing) Team is pleased to share with all of you that its sponsor Toyo Tires, which has been supporting EVR since 2007, will continue his participation in this adventure! Still a bit of patience and we will start hearing again about Vigouroux and Alex Winocq, about their hunger for races and victories, which is bigger than ever.
