After a first victory at the "Africa Eco Race" 2012, the Sonangol-Schlesser of "Le Patron" Jean-Louis Schlesser team traveled close to Venise for the "Italian Baja", the first race of the 2012 FIA Cross Country World Cup (we reported). The team returned at home with 4th overall and won the 2 wheel drive category.
The fastest time overall in the second stage from Saturday showing good form for the squad in early season - a successful output for the Schlesser-Buggy in his first FIA World Cup race in this year.
"This race was hard because we had many fords to cross, some deep, with outputs of walking uphill which made difficult access on riverbanks" Schlesser said after the race. "But ultimately this race ended in another victory for our team, the 2012 target for Sonagol-Schlesser team is clearly to win the FIA Cross Country World Cup in the ´2 Wheel Drive´ category."
