 | Grand Erg Rally: The amateur-rally started - the rough journey to Genova.

At the beginning of the German organized, licence-free Tunisia Desert Rally "Grand Erg" everything had gone smoothly: Since 07:00 setting up the ZK-01 at the port of Genova, since 08:00 customs clearance of the organisers team and since 09:00 customs clearance of the participants.
Then the first disaster occurred: The MAN 6x6 of the organisers team Burk, had a damaged turbocharger 130 km from Genova, so "first mission for Rescue-1", team Burgard.
After the successful towing to the port, the partly relieving message was: The spare turbocharger of team Britz seems to fit, therefore combat screwing and tightening the bolts, while the "Carthage"-ferry to Tunisia arrives.
The next two disasters, the medically-determined absence of two teams: I.e. 402 (Kraut/Essel) and 108 (Holler/Felix) need to be coped with as well and then we can board the ship, which departs at 21:00 local time with some delay.
After the first drivers briefing and passport action that same evening, further briefings follow today and we are facing a long night drive to Gafsa - nevertheless the team is in a good mood!
