|Greece 24 Hours TICKER: More and more cars arrived - "fair play" story.|
After the bikes and the first car (Mercedes G500) finished, more and more participants are arriving in the Camp inside the beautiful city of Distomo. Second car (with 9 minutes to the Mercedes) were the Israelian favourites Raz Heymann / Hillel Segal with their Mitsubishi/BMW Prototype.
But the roof and the front of the car was damaged slightly. What happened? "Well, on an asphalt passage we slipped after a water puddle, hit a stone and rolled the car," the crew reported.
"Nothing serious happened to us, but we were laying on the roof. Then especially our nearest rival, the Greek Mitsubishi Pajero of Stavros Dimitriadis and Panagiotis Kalfas stopped und pulled the car back on the street. We asked them, why they are helping us - because they lost a lot of time and the second position with this action - but they were so cool, simply answered ´Because then we wouldn´t have a good enemy anymore to play with´... Such a great team, this is really fair play," the Israelian "Pointer" crew said.
The bad thing: Now the Greek Mitsubishi crew has a technical problem and the Israelians can´t help because in their prototype they are using a BMW engine now instead of the former Mitsubishi-engine...
Also the Italian crew of Vincenzo Cangi and Paolo Manfredini arrived with their FIA Isuzu D-Max Proto - without any big problems. "It was such a great stage," Cangi reported. "We only had to change a flat tire in the rain, nothing more. We are really happy!"
Not happy is actually the Bulgarian Toyota Hilux crew of Konstantin Cholakov and Nikolai Granchev. Their beautiful Toyota - which looks like an Overdrive Toyota but is 100% `made in Bulgaria´ - slipped from the road and is actually stucking in a ditch. "It´s easy to get the car out but nobody stopped to help us," they said via phone... so in the moment the organization in on their way to pull them out...
