In course of the recovery from the accident that he suffered at the Por Las Pampas Rally beginning this month, Portuguese rider Hélder Rodrigues underwent another surgery.
According to Dr Pedro Barradas, physician of Team Lagos, this four hour operation was successful. Dr. Barradas is in permanent contact with the responsibles of the Chilean hospital where Rodrigues is beeing treated for three weeks now. He was told that the intervention aimed to cure the consequences of the toracic injuries of the young rider and, at the same time, to repair the left clavicle, which was originally planned to be done in Portugal.
According to the team doctor, if everything goes well, the drains can be removed next Tuesday and Rodrigues can finally be repatriated within the next six days.
