Hail Saudi Baja: Nasser Al-Attiyah in 2nd position with X-Raid.

After the cancellation of the Dakar 2008 this first event of the Baja Cup started today with the prologue in the city of Hail (Saudi Arabia). All the competitors were sending of by the Sa'ud Bin Abdullmuhsen Bin Abdullaziz to the 2 kilometre prologue. At the end of the prologue Nasser finished with his BMW X3 CC in a comfortable 2nd position with an 8 seconds lead. The winning Dutchman Tonnie Van Dejine just finished 3 second ahead.
"To be second on the road tomorrow is great as we have never been here before", commented Nasser and added "if the tracks are fast tomorrow we have a good chance of having a good result tomorrow". On Wednesday the rally heads of North West of Hail in relatively flat desert areas with the first cars starting at 9.00 from the parc ferme in Hail.
