|Hellas Rally: New "Classic Bikes Class" - more and more top-competitors.|
Amateur- and expert-rallydrivers are counting the days - not only for the Dakar, also for the "Hellas Rally" 2014 in Greece, which is one of the most interesting and top-organized amateur events. The rally will be held from 6-11 May 2014 again in the Lepanto-region, very easy to reach with Ferries from Europe and also Northern Africa.
In 2013 many professionals competed in the rally and were surprised. “Great Stages and amazing organisation - we will be back,” said the Overdrive Toyota privateers Jerome Pelichet and Eugenie Decre. “The best race in the area I have ever participated,” reported Bulgarian Dakar-lady Zornica Todorova. Dakar- and Silk-Way Rally participant Raz Heyman from Israel said “demanding driving mountain stages, combined with stunning scenery and an Hi-level competitors. Professional organization. Can a racer ask for more?”
60 participants even signed in nearly 6 months before the rally - including great names like David Fretigne from France, Pedro Bianchi Prata from Italy, Patsy Quick (UK), David Pettersson (Sweden), Francesco Catanese (Itaky) or Johannes Lukas from Austria. Actually participants will come from Portugal, Spain, Greece, Germany, Austria, UK, Sweden, Holland, Poland, Turkey, Croatia, Czech Republic, France and Bulgaria.
"Things are getting hot," laughes organizer Meletis Stamatis - and he is right. Now the organizer announced also a class for classic bikes: "Passion for Rally Raid is not necessary hitech engines and tons of electronics. Hellas Rally Raid 2014 officially announces Classic Bikes Class for bikes registered until 31/12/1990. Classic Bike lovers will have their chance to live a 6 days Rally Raid on their own race," Stamatis told.
The rally is open for cars, buggies, bikes and quads - and the entry fees are cheap. Bikes/Quads start at 550 Euros (till January 1st 2014), Cars / Buggies at 650 Euros - entries are also possible as "last minute entry".
