 | Hungarian Baja: Holowczyc crashed, SAM retired, Trucks SS-shortened.

Holowczyc crashed into a tree during the ninety-kilometre-long section. It happened not far from the finish, and since then Nissan does not move. Likely they will not continue the Sweet-Milk HunGarian Baja.
So the Russian Boris Gadasin (G-Force Proto) was not only the winner of today´s special, if he will win the race, he will also be the new leader in the FIA Baja Worldcup. Second was the Hungarian Erik Korda with his Nissan Navara, third was Balázs Szalay with his black Opel Antara RR.
Also the all-new "SAM Mercedes 35CC" had to retire from the Race. The team had problems with the steering mechanism in the first stage and decided to quit. "We don´t want to get any risks, don´t want to make any crash" team-owner Sven Knorr told in the late afternoon. "It was the first race for the car, the Mercedes was running well and Matthias Kahle is a damned fast driver. But for us this was also a first test, now we know what we have to improve."
The length of the SS4 reduced to half for the trucks, people in the Challange Category, and for those who race only in the national championship. They had to do this if they wanted to achive the given timetable. They were able to start the SS2 in time; moreover they will finish before dark. The Szebényi-Szaller duo could repair the damper, so they continue.
