|Hungarian CC: Gold for Miroslav Zapletal and Maciej Marton Hummer at Gyula|
Hungarian renowned spa town Gyula situated near the Romanian border was a beautiful venue for another race from the "Hungarian Cross Country Rally Championship" series held on the second weekend in June.
The Czech Offroadsport team brought three racing Hummer H3 EVO to the starting line: Zapletal / Marton, Ourednícek / Vaculík and Porízek / Sýkora. As the start list was full of names of famous pilots and factory teams presenting their cars (Ford, Toyota, Schlesser, Opel Dakar team) a very competitive race was expected.
Finally Czech Miroslav Zapletal and Polands Maciej Marton could win the rally with their Hummer H3 Evo 7. Not only the engine but primarily the experience of a pilot and his navigator brought the win on the fast and winding Hungarian tracks. "I am so glad I could be here and feel great after this fantastic race," commented Zapletal after the race.
Whilst the Hummer of Porízek/Sýkora crew did not finish the race because of the unexpected personal issue, Czech Tomas Ourednicek also gained great result by avoiding any fatal mistake that would result in an accident. The Ourednicek/Vaculik crew reached the golden cup in T1.1.2 category and 7th place overall. "The best award for me was a compliment by Jean-Louis Schlesser, the honourable guest of the race, after the 6th SS where we rode faster than Schlesser Original car, driven by top Spanish pilot Joan Vila Roca," Ourednicek said.
