The Russian Boris Gadasin with his G-Force Proto is among the inscribed drivers in the "Italian Baja" for the fifth consecutive year. The "zar" of St. Petersburg was winning the Baja in 2007 and 2009, lost the first place in 2008, when Nasser Al-Attiyah was able to take the lead after a thrilling duel.
Last year he had to bow out of the race because of a mechanical failure in the first SS, after leading the opening race. Gadasin is supposed to be the favourite driver also this time, when the Italian Baja finally becomes again a world off-road competition.
Also Leonid Novitskiy from Russia and Andreas Schulz from Germany confirmed the rally with their BMW. Both won the FIA Cross Country World Cup in 2010 - both want to defeat their title in this season. "In Italy we will only one car, but in Abu Dhabi we will start with two cars, the BMW from Novitskiy and the Mini All4 Racing with Stéphane Peterhansel" team-owner Sven Quandt told.
