 | Ladoga Trophy: The Polish teams in the Russian Trophy by Pawel Roslon (4).

The second stage win for Marcin Lukaszewski and Magdalena Duhanik might be the summary of the 3rd day of the Russian "Ladoga Trophy". The special stage was 14 kms long and was completely different from the preceding ones.
The Off-roadsport team started as the first team in the Proto class, right after the TR3 start. From the very beginning they imposed a high pace, passed all the preceding crews and showed up at the finish line ahead of all competitors.
The first part of the course was very winding, the GPS coordinates were circling around within 1 kilometer. The cas were wandering around stones and peat. Later, the road led through forest felling areas, among tall stumps. Proper navigation and safe driving were key to the success. every mistake could have caused car damage.
The Sam Evo III team finished the SS at 02:15:25, ahead of Kari Shivonen of Finland (+12:50) and Sergey Halzev (+22:23). The Polish team is now third in the general classification.
Magdalena Duhanik - The co-driver’s role is primarily plotting out the route from point A to point B, getting us there along the fastest and safest possible way. Sometimes we’re driving though dense forest, or peat, so the terrain is changing all the time.
There’s no single general rule, you need to improvize permanently. There was just 50 m of tolerance around the checkpoints, so we needed to keep a close eye on that. Personally, I prefer driving between tapes, but under these condition, completely new for us, we are doing pretty well, and we’re both learning the Russian trails.
